🍽️ A Day of Gratitude and Connection
Yesterday, on Thanksgiving Day (November 27th), the atmosphere at the Harbor Point on the Bay Apartments was truly special. More than just a meal, the “Friendsgiving” event hosted by Clare Senior Care AFC|GAFC became a heartfelt celebration of unity, where the lines between residents and staff dissolved into the warmth of shared cooking and fellowship.
The Kitchen Came Alive at 2:00 PM
The magic of this event started not at the dinner table, but in the kitchen. At 2:00 PM, the kitchen at the 40 Westwind Lounge was buzzing with activity.
Living up to the spirit of “neighbors cooking for neighbors,” the Clare Team was not alone. We were deeply moved to see our resident “cookers”—the seasoned chefs of Harbor Point—roll up their sleeves and join in. From roasting the turkey and preparing the side dishes to setting the tables, the teamwork was inspiring. The cheerful chatter, mixed with the irresistible aroma of Thanksgiving dinner, warmed the entire Lounge. This is what we prepare for the diner:
A Cozy Dinner for the Community
When the clock struck 3:30 PM, the main event began. Many of whom might have spent the holiday alone—gathered to share the feast. The atmosphere was incredibly cozy and intimate. Everyone enjoyed the hot, delicious food prepared by our special volunteer team, sharing stories and laughs. It was a beautiful reminder that Thanksgiving is more than words; it’s about being present and connected.

This special Friendsgiving event would not have been possible without the collaboration and support of many individuals and organizations. Clare Senior Care extends its deepest gratitude to:

- The Clare Senior Care Team & Volunteers: Thank you to Thai Nguyen (the visionary behind this wonderful idea), and the rest of the Clare Team. Your hard work, from securing donations to the final cleanup, made this event a success.
- And most importantly, the Harbor Point Residents: Thank you for your enthusiasm, your willingness to cook, and for opening your hearts to share this holiday with us.
