Dementia Awareness: Lunch & Learn at Harbor Point on the Bay

Boston, MA — October 16, 2025
Clare Senior Care hosted a warm and meaningful “Dementia Awareness: Lunch & Learn” event with senior residents and caregivers at Harbor Point on the Bay Apartments. The gathering brought together Clare’s clinical team, led by Ms. Thai Nguyen, Chief Nurse of Clare, to share valuable information and practical tips about understanding dementia while enjoying a friendly community lunch.

The goal of the event was simple — to help seniors and their families learn how to recognize early signs of dementia, communicate with patience, and create safer, calmer routines at home. Ms. Thai guided participants through easy-to-understand examples from everyday life, showing how small habits like consistent schedules, gentle communication, and brain-supporting activities can make a big difference.

Throughout the afternoon, seniors and caregivers shared stories, asked questions, and laughed together over a delicious meal. The relaxed “lunch and learn” setting made it easy for everyone to open up and connect — reminding all that learning about health doesn’t have to be stressful; it can be social, supportive, and even fun.

Events like this reflect Clare’s ongoing commitment to community education and preventive care, ensuring that every senior — regardless of background or language — has access to practical knowledge that supports independence and well-being.

Clare hopes to continue hosting more awareness events across local senior communities to help families build confidence in caregiving and stay informed about conditions like dementia, fall prevention, and healthy aging.
